Philadelphia – Drexel women's tennis topped Coppin State, 5-2, in a non-conference tennis match played at the Vidas Athletic Complex. The Dragons won two of the three doubles matches along with four singles matches to secure the victory. The win pushed Drexel's record to 6-7 on the season.

Reigning CAA Doubles Team of the Week, Gabriela Marginean (Cluj-Napoca, Romania/Mt. de Chantal Academy) and Emily Lewis (Lake Geneva, Wis./Big Foot) continued their winning ways as they defeated Andreea Apostu and Nina Sebescen, 8-4, at No. 1 doubles. Hana Stecova (Trinec, Czech Republic/Saint James) and Jaimee Wylie (Sewell, N.J./Washington Township) won at No. 3 doubles, 8-5. In singles play, Coppin State took the No. 1 and No. 2 matches but the Dragons swept the rest as Mellissa Lewis (Lake Geneva, Wis./Big Foot), Jillian Toussaint (Palmerton, Pa./Palmerton Area), Ashley Doriss (Fort Washington, Pa./Germantown Academy) and Stecova all won in straight sets.

The Dragons return to the court on Sunday, April 15 for a non-conference match with Delaware State at Riverwinds Tennis Center in West Deptford, N.J.
